Books I read in August by kjarn

Books I read in August

From top to bottom:

A historical fiction that I enjoyed more than I thought I would, a nice read
A crime story that I enjoyed
A chick lit that was only average
A mystery thriller that was twisty and turny but not up to that writers usual standard
A nice selection of reads

Great set of books. I've read the crime and the mystery. Must look out for the historical one.

I am so amazed at all the books you read, most of them I have not even heard of. Have to chat with our bookclub.

I want to know how long it took you to read each one. LOL! It would take me a year to read those - a little at night before bed.

An interesting selection.

I'm impressed. I read two to max three a month depending on their length.

I wish that I read as much as you do, but I suspect I would have to give up something else.

@marlboromaam if it’s a book that really grips me then nothing else gets done and it’s read in a few days, if it’s a book that is hard to get into can take up to 2 weeks (or more) to finish but most take about a week

I wonder if, concerning #4, authors have to pump them out so quickly some get rather "routine" or formula driven. Another month of good reading for you!

@kjarn It's commendable that you don't let life get in the way of your reading. I know you said you weren't a writer, but what about an editor?

@olivetreeann I do agree with what you are saying and have found that a few times but in the case of #4 he has a brilliant series but every now and then he writes a stand alone book and they are never as good.

And another month of reading done, where does it go!

@kjarn Oh- that's an interesting twist! I have a great deal of respect for writers who can continue a story or carry characters over several books- that takes a lot of talent.
