I'm really disappointed with the quality of this photo but the sun was rapidly dropping over the back hills and Mist was really high up the tree.
How do they hold that joey against them and then sleep so high? (Hope you can see that joey ok)
ANSWER from recent quiz: It is often said they sleep so much because they are drunk or stoned on the eucalyptus but NOT SO. The truth is that eucalyptus is extremely poor quality and has a very low calorie count. They have to consume a lot of leaf to gain any energy at all. Their digestive system is almost all one big caecum (our appendix) in order to digest anything at all out of eucalyptus leaves.
