@congaree Yep! There are three main eucalypts the koalas eat, then some secondary trees, nearly all eucalypts. They have this incredibly long caecum (our appendix) filled with all these bacteria that break the leaves down for them. Very little nutrition in these leaves. It takes a LOT of energy for them just to digest the leaves! That's why they can sleep up to 22 hours a day - very little calories and many spent on digestion. They do not get drunk on the eucalyptus oil in the leaves however, that's a myth :)
