You can see he has been using his fused toes to groom by the fur caught in them. But can you see something has changed with Bullet? Those who follow on fb have already seen the answer this morning sorry to be a little behind here ;) Thank you for so many awesome comments on my photos.
@vignouse WINNER!!!! great spotting Richard, yes he has ripped it out of his ear. You did ask, and all I can say is I've seen a koala that came in with a tag he had carried for 14 years, so it's a bit unlucky that he lost his so fast!
@s4sayer now that's very true that the claw count is different because you are looking at his hand slightly behind, and then his foot in front. A koala has 3 fingers and 2 thumbs on their hands, all with claws. They have 2 separate toes, 2 fused toes, and a thumb with no claw on their feet. The 2 fused toes is used as a grooming comb and you can see a big tuft of fur caught in it from his last grooming session. So that foot thumb with no claw is normal, and I must say it was a good distraction from the missing ear tag ;)
@cruiser No lost claw, the thumb on a koala foot has no claw, but both thumbs on the had are clawed :) the foot certainly did pull the eye away from noticing the ear tag has been ripped out ...
@kgolab the farmer in you is showing well - CORRECT indeed :) @rickster549 so vain of me to think everyone here remembers all the details of each koala 😂😂😂
