When in the right position I also use my newer Olympus mirrorless and it is interesting to compare the quality to the old faithful Canon powershot. The Canon has the reach, but I do like the result the Olympus gets. Angel was only around 5 m off the ground here, had she been 10 or more the Olympus just can't get close.
I hope to get bigger telephoto lens at some time this year.
I also realise I had the ISO a bit too high on the shots I took this same day. Always so much to learn!
I have the original EM10, sad to say we are not best buddies, but he's very good at star trails & daft long exposures. Your little Angel shows how well Oly CAN work - in the right hands!

Well done. Love the ears. We do get lots of info and photos via tv and cell phone about the fires in Australia. My brother is also visiting and was in Norah head today. I feel so sorry for the people and the animals.. Saw lots of photos of the koalas hurt in fires. shame
Now I’m starting to recognize Angel with her distinction nose marking. You might check out the Olympus 75-300 mm lens for your camera. Pricey but sharp.
@redy4et thanks! this lens is the 14-150 and I'm really glad I started with it. I would like to get one even bigger than 300 as my good old canon powershot goes up to 1365. I'll never get that reach on the olympus as the lens would be ridiculous.
But with both cameras I now feel like I can relax and take my on the decision. Maybe I will be lucky and find a second hand lens for a good price too. I sometimes just binge watch some youtube recommendations on lens options. :) thanks for the suggestion, I'm going to check that lens out - I do want something that will really give a good sharp image
Amazing! Terrific shot !! I was watching some news footage today about your fires -breaks my heart -hope you continue to be safe and the work you do will now be even more needed and life changing
Her ears are just adorable- perhaps her angel wings? I love my Powershot for my moon pictures but all other times I'm using the T3i. The zoom really does a good job and so far I have no plans to get rid of the camera because of that. Great shot of this little sweetheart.
@olivetreeann the powershot is awesome for moon shots I agree! I'm happy with having 2 cameras for different uses, and I'm learning a lot by using both on manual mode. who could ever complain they have too many toys anyway ;)
what amazing ears. I believe we have lost half the population of koalas here on Kangaroo Island from the fires and because those that have survived are disease free, they cant be taken off the island or if they are they can never be returned.
@ninaganci you need to update the image a little as I ride around on my quad bike - way too far to walk and the property is on the side of a hill so it's very much up and down and round and round :)
however, this particular tree I can walk to as it is right beside the house so I look out my kitchen window and see this :)
Great pov and shot. You can use Canon lenses for Olympus. You just need an adapter for this. Because you have a factor of x2, Canon 200mm gives you a 400mm tele. You just need to handle it carefully, because Canon lenses are much heavier. Therefore, hold the lens and not the body.

And for the people that have lost there homes. To sad.

I now have a picture of you in my mind walking round the reserve with 2 cameras round the neck
