@beryl yes these are not so pretty but I find the double drummer quite delightful to look at, and then the green grocer is just so bright. nature is amazing really :)
@susiemc@pamknowler funny you say scary because I think every aussie child plays with cicadas at some point - maybe we are strange, we play with the dragon lizards too :)
@rickster549@kchuk@mbrutus yep they are pretty big - the body is at least as big as my thumb? This one is called a Black Prince - I must search for a double drummer, they are bigger and really impressive markings :)
in all my years of cicada watching I don't recall ever seeing one like this!
