Your facts are not just interesting in them selves but, because of them I’ve been inspired to do more research and discovered that the platypus is not a marsupial and that wombats poop comes out in squares. No way of knowing where you’ll end up when you start on a google search.

@gardencat our animals are pretty weird aren't they? yup square poops! I still have never seen a platypus in the wild even though they live in this are, even have friends who have them on their properties!. I do however have echidnas which are the only other living monotreme besides the platypus 🤓

@koalagardens I once saw a platypus at a wildlife reserve in the Adelaide hills. A guide took a small group of us on a night tour and we got a brief glimpse of one before it scurried into the water and dove under to escape her flashlight beam. The guide said we were very lucky because they are rarely seen. I don’t know if a reserve counts as being in the wild but it was a thrill nonetheless
