@marlboromaam What type books did your dad like to read? Just curious... my Pop read the newspaper but didn’t really read books until after he retired from his 2nd career. At that point my Mom got him into reading so he wouldn’t drive her nuts.
@kvphoto He enjoyed his paper of course. He always worked the crosswords. But he liked lots of history as far as non-fiction, everything from ancient Greece and Rome to all the great wars. I noticed some classics - like Doyle, and some modern intrigue/spy novels as well on his old bookshelves today. I was a little surprised to see the latter.
Of course I love images of readers and books -- but I especially like how your focus is on the glasses, that which enables the reading to happen. And you know I tried to figure out what book is being read and came up with the conclusion that it's a book about birds, but not a recent one because of its design. Art was important to this book I can tell.
@marlboromaam Maggie... they has much in common as do we... it is amazing to connect with you... I find it very precious and as far as our dads are concerned it touches the heart so deeply.
@mittens Thanks so much Marilyn... yes... the reader loves birds and has invested time in researching them and providing a lovely place for them to visit and be fed.
@jyokota Junko... your expertise with visual design shine though here... it is North American Birds by Readers Digest published in 1990. The shallow DOF was intentional to bring focus to the reader yet I did want the viewer to recognize the birds since feeding and learning about birds is very important to the reader. Thanks for your comment... most appreciated.
@pdulis Thanks Peter.
@samae Thanks Sarah.
@radiogirl Thanks Kathy... I had to do some dodging and burning to get this to come out the way I envisioned.
@marlboromaam Interesting... my Pop always did the crosswords too and I think he read mostly mysteries and spy/intrigue/thrillers.
@wyomingsis @bubblequeen Thanks so much Wyomingsis & Melvina.
@sherimiya @jgpittenger Thanks so much Sheri & Jane.
@bruni Ha! Isn’t that always the case? I’m lucky... mine are progressives so I wear them all the time... it helps... but there are times.
@pusspup @aikiuser @merrelyn Thanks so much Wylie, Jenn, & Merrelyn.
