Star Trails

"There wouldn't be a sky full of stars if we were all meant to wish on the same one."

--Frances Clark--my first star trail shot... I've been wanting to do a shot like this for a really, really long time. I have a lot to learn about night sky photography but I'm happy to have gotten a few pictures I like.

how great is this

Absolutely beautiful! So did you move the camera or how? 15 secs exposure on the exif doesn't seem long enough for such movement. This is so Van Gogh, I love it.

Striking !

Beautifully done! I love the minimal composition with the trees and the not-dead-center of the trails. Nice!!

@cocobella @jgpittenger @marlboromaam @thewatersphotos @linnypinny @sunnygirl @onewing @taffy @cwbill @sherimiya @dutchothotmailcom @ludwigsdiana @monikozi @koalagardens @casablanca @etienne @etienne @aikiuser @momamo thanks so much for all the kind words and favs. For those who asked how this was done... camera on a tripod, 31 sequential shots of 15 seconds each merged in PhotoShop. it is the earth’s rotation that creates the movement. I appreciate all of the comments you’ve made on my travel photos while I’ve been on the road unable to comment. Now that I’m home I’m trying to get caught up on editing my photos.
