Finding subjects for the Flash of Red black & white challenge in the category of “Trinkets, Treasures and Trash” is pretty easy in my home office... I have so many old things that I should part with and haven't done so. I'd say the old mix tapes fall in the category of trash. Now the cigar box is definitely a keeper... It contained 25 Cuban cigars that were said to retail for at least 30 cents each. My Grandpa smoked cigars and the box was from him... I hated the smell of cigars and much preferred my Pop's pipe tobacco which was a mix of Cherry and something else... it always smelled good.
I am seeing lots of memories during this week of the FoR challenge. I have a cigar box that belonged to my great grandad and your photo brought back memories for me. I have a few cassettes too, can you still play them?
I found some cassette tapes in our house that one of baby sitters made for our kids when they were small 35 years ago. They were stories made up by her. She is now a very accomplished novel writer, wish I could find a cassette player to listen to the stories.
Not only your memories but evoking some for me. Can you still smell cigars from the box. I have an old tobacco Tin and occasionally I can smell the tobacco.
