Vinyl. Records. Albums. You had to buy them at a store. In the 60's I think they cost about 50 cents in the US... not sure. I had a collection of vinyl albums that I gave away in the late 90s but I kept my 45's. My favorites... Happy Jack by the Who... You Can't Get No Satisfaction by the Stones... the Beatles Revolution... and many more.
Wish I still had a few of those. Super Storm Sandy washed away all my vinyl. So sad about that, but You Canât Always Get What You Want. Stones were one of my favorites when I was a teenager.
Oooh my era, we paid about 6/-, super capture. My first record was Dave Dee Dozy Mick and Tich singing Hideaway. I had to save 3 weeks pocket money to buy it!
I still have my whole collection of singles and LP's and absolutely love them. Still get the out to play on the record player regularly. Wonderful things and very nostalgic.
