Lighthouse Trail

Grand Canyon Trip. Day 24. March 5. Today we had waffles with blueberries for breakfast and “carbed” up for our 6 mile hike to the “lighthouse.” The wind was blowing and dust was everywhere… it made for a very thirsty and “dirty” hike. The scenery was beautiful. The colors in the canyon reminded me of Providence Canyon in Georgia.

Sugar was in her element… socializing with people and friendly dogs. The last part of the hike was a scramble up a hillside… kind of steep and a bit scary… I was envious of Sugar’s 4 feet on the ground and her nimbleness. When we got to the top we chose not to climb the lighthouse formation but sure enjoyed watching others make the climb.
Amazing formations and colours! (Sugar knows how to do it, clearly :) Fav
