I've been training for my Grand Canyon rim to rim backpacking trip. On 8/31 I hiked 8 miles while carrying a 30 pound backpack. I'm feeling confident and prepared. I'll be heading out to the Grand Canyon on October 10th and will arrive there a week before my trip begins. That will give me time to get used to the altitude change.
I was surprised to see the red leaves on the trees showing that fall seasonal changes are beginning. The first day of fall for us in Georgia is September 22nd.
