I got an earlier start on the Homestead trail this morning... I began hiking at 8:15 and finished up about three hours later. I was carrying a 32 Lb backpack and it was hazy, hot, and humid today... just like yesterday. This part of the trail is filled with lush greenery and is very beautiful. I’ve been training for my Rocky Mountain National Park backpacking trip scheduled for August. The weather for that time of August should be much nicer - mid 30’s F - 70 F. Much better than high 80s & 90s (F) and high humidity in my area of North Georgia.
Can't imagine surviving with the backpack in this Georgia heat - imagine it's like Arkansas's. But sure is a beautiful trail - what a great hike ahead!
Looks so lush. We've been stuck indoors because I all the smoke in the air because of the Canadian wildfires. Just quick jaunts outside for necessities.
Beautiful shot with the sunflare. The Rockies sound much more pleasant than the South with our current heat wave. Awesome that you are planning a backpacking trip!
