Okay... I'm a bit slow!! I couldn't figure out how to flip this but after more searching I figured it out so I've uploaded it for the second time!! Now you can read the stamp. Thank you for those that commented originally.
I'm quite pleased with this! I used PicMonkey and layered a digital copy of an old family photograph of my Grandpa and Great Grandpa over top of today's shot which is of an antique ink stamp in my family name. I found this ancient box with the stamp and a dried out ink pad tucked away in my office. Both these men enjoyed photography immensely and I like to think they would be pleased to know I've taken up their hobby as well.
Nicely done. Have you thought to preserve your family photo treasures digitally? Careful work in Photoshop or similar can do a nice job restoring faded and damaged prints after scanning them. There are good professionals that can do this, but I found it is fun to try it yourself and the beauty of digital imagery, you do nothing to affect the original hard coy.
@frankhymus Last year I went through all the old photo albums and the "box" of unorganized ones. I have yet to edit or restore more than a handful. I'm just happy to have them saved.
Oh how precious!! I don't have a photo of even my Grandad never mind any further back than that.... and so clever to get the stamp (right way around) too! Inspired
It's obviously in the genes ;o) I've been hearing a lot about this layering on picmonkey recently. I don't/can't do photoshop...I'm not clever enough to work it out, so seeing that it's possible with picmonkey inspires me to give it a go. It's really effective xx
