My nearly ten year old got his first official carpenter's tool belt today. My husband bought him a men's leather "pouch" which he had to cut a length of the belt off and make a new hole so it would stay up. He was thrilled! It's stocked with a tape measure, hammer, nails, a cutter, a nail puller and a real carpenter's pencil. He worked hard measuring and nailing 2x6s around the perimeter of our "secret" attic room. It's going to have drop down, folding stairs which we'll access through the garage. Here's Gage on the edge of the room looking over the garage trusses.
Thanks for all your recent comments and fav's. My husband is home so we've been enjoying family time and I'm way behind in my viewing and commenting. I'll catch up soon... I promise!
Love all the lines and light in this shot. It looks a little bit like in our roof but from our manhole we have to climb thru all the little triangular bits...horrid.
What a splendid shot! If his excitement was anything as much as mine when I received my first fully equipped toolbox then I know that he will be a really happy lad. I am still using some of the tools fifty years later.
I love seeing young boys doing things like this. What a great gift for him to receive. Have fun with the secret attic. We've got one too... not on the planning of the house, but my husband has created a staircase and attic with loft windows for our boys. They helped him too and I know how much fun they had.
Congrats on the pp! Fav! I thought I faved it when I commented before. It is great! You a,ways find great shits that also are journalistic. You are great at that!
awe that is SO special and SO exciting for him! His very own belt and tools! What a caring and loving daddy he has :) LOVE your shot here...the lighting and lines are gorgeous and I like that we can see his belt on him too :) Fav!
it'll be good to look back on this, too, when it's all finished.
great eye, as always :)
