These keys once belonged to my grandparents. I remember my Nana telling me how her dining room table, hutch and china cabinet had arrived from England as a wedding gift. My dad is 73 and my Nana would be 103 if she were still alive. I always loved this furniture as a kid and still do as an adult. They now live at my parent's house. I'm not sure why the two keys are different but they both work so that's what counts. I rotated the shot on a whim and liked it. I hope you do too!
What a lovely story and so nice to have something that is so cherished to photograph. I have my grandparents gilded mirror hanging in our bedroom, it used to live above their fireplace and when my Nan was dying she asked me what I would like and I instantly said the mirror. I think of them every time I look at it.
Wonderful story behind these keys. Nothing better than that type of memories and to still be able to enjoy them at your parents home. I like how it looks in this position.
How beautiful, and what a great bit of history to go alongside it. I love the old family heirlooms that have been handed down to us, as well as the stories that come with them.
