Stay Off the Grass! by kwind

Stay Off the Grass!

Not the prettiest of shots today but one for the diary. My son had allergy testing done and we confirmed he's allergy to grass and various trees. Nose spray during the blooming months is the plan of attack. My daughter goes for the same thing next week and I'm expecting the same results.
Ouch!

Almost all of our family have had these tests. It seems to be part of today's society - I wonder if we have become more sensitive to things with our eating of processed foods!
June 21st, 2013
Sorry for him, but good to know now.
June 21st, 2013
Ouch. Glad you found out though.
June 21st, 2013
I remember doing one of these, they are great. I hope the spray works well... I use one too.

My poor little Clara had her whole back done a month or so back. It was so sad. Maybe 50-60 scratches and pokes:(. Poor buddy. Hope that he gets through the season ok. Clara is doing meds everyday for hers. Almost everything outside is a trigger for her.
June 21st, 2013
Oh. Poor guy. It is good to find out now though for sure.
June 21st, 2013
Ouch! But at least you will now know what he's allergic to. I've been through it too with one of my kids. Seems so common these days!
June 21st, 2013
Wow... look uncomfortable.
June 21st, 2013
@amandal Gage only had 18 things tested. It was itchy and a bit painful but the whole thing was done in about 20 minutes. They washed him off and put on some kind of soothing cream. I'm glad we know now.

When I've had it done its been on the back and 60-80 pinpricks, not so pleasant having an itchy back. I do have to say that once tested and then treated symptoms are so much better.
June 21st, 2013
Yikes ! Good to know the triggers.
June 21st, 2013
Well at least now you know what he is allergic to

Knowing how painful those reaction tests can be I feel gor your son. But it does provide some help.
June 21st, 2013
That's quite the reaction he has but good for you to have it all confirmed.
June 21st, 2013
NOT fun!! :-( Poor guy!!
Good documentation!!
June 21st, 2013
Oh, how hard for your son! Hopefully the result is being able to control the problems he's had. But what a thing to be allergic to -- grasses are everywhere!
June 21st, 2013
It's always better to know IMHO. Then you can make a plan. I'm glad that you discovered some things and I hope the nose spray helps. I used that for years until undiscovered local honey! Great shot for documentation.
June 21st, 2013
Well, I guess it's good to know what the causes are so that you can avoid if possible.
June 21st, 2013
Oh, I have the same allergy and is very heavy! Everywhere I go with nasal drops!
June 21st, 2013
Glad you discovered it now,so you know what to avoid, still of course sorry to hear it, allergy isin't fun but thank God there's good medicines for it.
June 21st, 2013
Ow! Poor chap. At least you know what the cause is, you can help him work around it.
June 21st, 2013
Poor thing! That's so hard when he plays football.
June 21st, 2013
Grass used to a big one for me too... desensitised a bit as I got older... but I still get the itches from it if I sit on it.
June 21st, 2013
Ah bless him x my daughter had this but they couldnt find out what it was so shes suppose to use spray or pills all year round :(
June 21st, 2013
Ooh poor him ! I know this, when spring arrives I know my nightmare starts !
June 21st, 2013
Yikes....that's a big reaction.
June 21st, 2013
Ouch. I hope the spray offers some relief.
June 21st, 2013
oh gosh, alergy is such a common thing these days. seriously there is gotta be a cute, I also use nose spray (can not sleep without one for sure) its annoying =)))
June 21st, 2013
Allergies are no fun at all. At least though he knows and can prepare for it when it does happen.
June 21st, 2013
Oh no. I am glad you found though, so you can be prepared. My husband suffers from allergies, not this serious though.
June 21st, 2013
Oh no, that is a real shame. Hopefully it is at least constructive to know exactly what the allergies are for treatment purposes.
June 21st, 2013
That does not look much fun.

I thought we were taught not to write on ourselves when we were kids. Nice shot
June 21st, 2013
Ooh nasty. At least you know though. Good diary shot.
June 21st, 2013
Yikes! Poor thing. I've always wanted to get this done to the whole fam but were all a bunch of chickens. Neat to see it up close
June 21st, 2013
Poor lad , what a trial for him...he could grow out of it hopefully!!
June 21st, 2013
Ouch!... how many test was that?
June 21st, 2013
Oh I had this done (many, many years ago) with the result of grass pollen, spores, dogs, horses, cats and eggs. Youngest son also had to endure it as he has severe allergic rhinitis. It's a very unpleasant thing so I feel for your poor boy. Hope you can get the necessary medication xx
June 21st, 2013
sorry for him, but it's always good to know.
June 22nd, 2013
Ah, know the feeling. Love the summer but hate the allergy side of it! Spend half of it sneezing and rubbing eyes!
June 22nd, 2013
Doesn't look like a nice test to have. Better that you know what he is allergic to though :)
June 22nd, 2013
I've been through this! There's a prescription eye drop called Alocril that is not steroidal and works wonders on runny itchy eyes.
June 23rd, 2013
great diary shot! my husband had a bunch on his back and it turns out he is also allergic to ALL north texas' grass....haha. no wonder he hates to mow. glad you have a plan of attack!
June 23rd, 2013
on the bright side, he has a valid excuse for not mowing the lawn ;)
June 23rd, 2013
yikes... this brings back memories.... glad you know now....
June 24th, 2013
