Every year my city hosts a carving contest where large cedar logs are transformed into works of art. I posted a "works in progress" shot a couple of days ago. Today we went to see the finished products. It was very difficult to get decent shots because there were a lot of people milling about along with lots of ugly background distractions. Here's a collage of just a few and a link to the event: http://www.crshorelinearts.ca
I'm behind on my commenting again... so sorry. It was Canada day and we spent time wandering around town and kayaking this gorgeous sunny day!
Wow - these are amazing - what a fun event! I love the way you captured the bird (owl?) with the sun in the background. (I'm behind in my commenting, too - ugh!)
I'm so glad you posted the collage -- I've been wondering about this since you posted the creature carving. The individual shots work well together, but work well on their own. So many have wide open mouths -- fun!
Those are wonderful carvings, pretty colorful. The wide mouth monster is a work of art but boy could that scare the heebie jeebies out you. Awesome collage.
