A quick shot of the sand in front of our house. I like the natural ridges created by the moving water.
I'm really struggling with my project at the moment. I want to keep doing it but I just don't have the time and interest I used to have. I appreciate all those who follow and comment but don't think I can keep up like I used to so please don't feel the need to comment. I'm doing what works for me and in no way expect anything from anyone else. I hope that makes sense and doesn't sound unkind. I was a big believer in returning comments but I'm just unable to reciprocate on a regular basis at this point. Thanks for understanding.
I know exactly how you feel with this project! It seems to work best with commenting on others photos but takes up so much time! I'm interested in other's photos but if they comment on mine I feel obliged to comment on theirs. I think we do need appreciation or interest or even having fun so its difficult to find a balance!
I think with everything you have going on, just take a more relaxed attitude towards your project. Shoot when you can, post when you can and comment when you can. Once you've made that decision to not feel pressurized you may find your interest picks back up. My reason for doing this project was to learn more about and how to use a newly acquired DSLR - I'm learning all the time, but don't have the time to post all the time and same goes for commenting. (Psst just don't close your account ok? I wouldn't be able to see my many kind favs!)
Wonderful patterns and light in this shot. I can really understand how you are feeling, Kim. I haven't been at this nearly as long and I find myself feeling weary at times and wondering how I can make it to the one year mark. You have had so much going on in your life with your house building, move, and your son's health problems. i'm sure it's hard to feel the same enthusiasm for this project as you have in the past. Please don't worry about the commenting part though. Just post when you can and want to. We really understand.
Very cool image. Kim I am a strong believer that 365 is a personal project so if you only have the time once in a while to be on it that is just fine. I do hope you stay on as you have some wonderful shots
No problem, Kim. I came to the exact same conclusion a while ago and... I'm still here! :)
Good luck with your boy!
Oh, and I love these beach ridges:)
Beautiful capture of the patterns and textures. I absolutely understand you because I'm in a very similar situation. How is your son doing? He is in my thoughts and prayers.
Great patterns! Love it. I think you feel less pressure to commit to the project after you have completed the year. I'm having similar feelings and haven't been able to commit to commenting properly for a while either due to my own stuff going on, and regularly have gaps in my calendar (which I used to hate!) where I've lost my enthusiasm and inspiration for it. Just dip in and out when you feel like it, it's your project after all. :-) I for one, love your shots and will keep following merrily. Just don't delete your account, as I have too many favs of your's I want to copy! :-) Hope Gage is ok. X
Love the patterns in this.
Sounds like you're in the same head space I am. Want to keep taking pictures, but there are so many other things I'd like to do with my time.
Great lines and lovely image! Do worry about the commenting! This project is to get us to see things differently not about what others think although it helps to have wonderful comments to keep you motivated! Best of Luck!
I want you to know that I appreciate your shots and learn so much from them. Don't worry about commenting. (Just keep us informed about your son. A year ago my daughter went through about 8 surgeries and ended up losing her color--she had a colostomy and then an ileostomy and now is totally recovered. It was a roller coaster ride, but she feels so much better today)
I understand your feelings and am in pretty much the same boat right now--not sure I can keep this up.
I definitely do understand this predicament. Having taken two weeks off to revise for my exam I found how much I missed it but tonight is the first night of getting back to commenting and I can only manage the last of everyone's project. Great light and shadow and texture on this shot xx
@yonnie Your daughter's situation sounded stressful. I'm so glad she's recovered. It's so scary when your kids are sick! Gage is doing better now that he's eating again but still has to visit the bathroom a lot. I know it's going to be alright eventually though!
You and your family comes first above all things Kim! While we will miss your daily posts and creativity we completely understand! Keep us informed, please!
Love the textures! Please don't stress about 365 you have enough to be thinking about. Just keep enjoying your photography and post your pics when you can. Everyone understands that sometimes life just gets in the way. Hopefully everything will settle down soon especially your son's health. Your priority is your family. As everyone has said try to keep us informed.
this makes for such an interesting abstract shot... i for one completely understand the predicament you find yourself in... i still love photography, but have less and less time and energy for viewing and commenting... and in some respects, i refuse to think this is a bad thing... i started here when i was bored to tears at work - REALLY bored.. and for a while i think i got a bit obsessed... well, work is picking up a LOT and my brain has lots else it needs to do right now... something has to give, right?
As for the project, I think everyone who stays has to find a balance that works for them. I think people here are very understanding too.
Good luck with your boy!

Don't worry for the reciprocity of the comments...it really doesn't matter, the priority is your son, hope he'll recover very soon .
