My Year in Review by kwind

My Year in Review

I'm a day late in posting as we were travelling home from Vegas on the 4th.

When we got home my 2013 photo book had arrived!! Every year I make a photo book highlighting the events of year. I start it in January and add to it after any significant events. I can't imagine doing it all at once! I use a company out of New York called My Publisher. This is my fifth book. The quality is fantastic and the service wonderful. They are really easy to make and have tons of layout options. I use their Buy One, Get One Free coupon and get two books. I put one away and display the other on our coffee table. I figure when I'm old and senile and no longer want clutter in my house, I can give each child a copy so they will be able to cherish the memories we've made. You can include captions (even paragraphs) if you want so I treat the book like a journal and make notes to remember relevant facts.
I would love to do this. Always have good intentions but never find the time. This is a great idea and I'm sure your children will be so thankful to have these one day!

How wonderful! I always get the emails from My Publisher but haven't sat down to make a book yet. I procrastinate way too much. One day..... ;)

Lovely idea and I am sure the kids will love showing their own kids one day. Super cool camera in this shot too. Is it real?

I use My Publisher a lot and love the quality. This looks like a WONDERFUL book and I admire your thinking ahead so you start it in January. I'm just getting organized for the 2013 one now and it's daunting! Great image and congratulations!!

Now that we don't have the same photo albums as we used to, that's a great idea!

@happysnap It's a fake camera. In fact, it's shown in the top left of the photo book.

@taffy I started my 2014 book this morning with some shots from Vegas. I could never do it after the fact. If you make it throughout the year it's not much work at all!

Great idea Kim! Do you ever have any problem with the photo in the book not having the same color/luminosity quality you see on your monitor?

Super idea ! Thanks for recommending My Publisher too, I've been thinking about using them. So you just upload your photos throughout the year and then get it printed at the end ?

Beautiful capture and lovely book

@cazann Just google "my publisher" and then download their free software. I make the book throughout the year on my computer and then upload at the very end. It saves on my computer each time I close it. It really is easy and the quality is great. @tctime I find the colours to be great, TC. I had a problem with a spine once and they sent me a replacement and let me keep the original. They come FAST... less than a week to my door! I make the large size for my yearly book but have also made several of the "classic" size for smaller trips.

That is really nice! I kind of wish I had done that instead of the huge bulky photo albums I have. But I guess this is the new way. I did get one done of my nature pictures and I love it. I'm sure you will really enjoy it!!!!

This is a wonderful idea ....I know several people in the UK make this type of book & I would love to do the same but never make the effort to get going & find out more. A lovely set of memories to give your children...just priceless!

That looks lovely. From the beginning of my 365 I planned to do a book but haven't done it yet.

You are so good at creating these books every year. I should get into the habit of doing this also.

Great idea to keep it going all year. I try and do it all in Nov-Dec and it gets overwhelming. I also use My Publisher.
