I have to start off by saying I did not take the photos within this magazine. I just took a shot of the magazine itself. Many of you will know that my mom is an avid gardener and remember many of the shots I have shared of it. Well, after I took this photo ( http://365project.org/kwind/365/2013-05-06) and a bunch of others I thought to myself I should contact my mom's favourite garden magazine and tell them about her space. I did, two weeks later they sent out a photographer and then nothing happened for months! My mom was excited but figured that was the end of it. Well, about two months ago they called back and said they wanted to use her garden in the April edition of Gardens West so they interviewed her and together, her and a writer produced this article which is spread over four double-sided pages. I'm so excited for her! The magazine did a wonderful job presenting her gorgeous space. All our family and friends are buying copies and joking about getting her to autograph their copy.
Sending your photos to your mom's favorite magazine, what a thoughtful thing to do! That may mean more to her than actually getting her garden in a magazine. Kudos to her for raising a wonderful daughter and a beautiful garden too.
Wow, that is so wonderful! I know how much work it takes to tend a garden, so I really applaud her efforts and the results. So good to get recognition!
