I rolled up my daughter's bedroom blind at 5:25am this morning (she had swim practice) and I saw two deer out by the big rock. I just about pooped myself... I took off running for the camera. I quickly got the big lens mounted and headed outside but it was quite dark and I needed the tripod. By the time I got this shot they had moved quite a bit and I missed the money shot of them walking in a row out by the big rock. This was the first time I've seen deer on the beach!
Thank you so much for your overwhelming response to my Sea of Pink shot from yesterday! It made the popular page! I thought I'd share another similar type but this time of yellow flowers from my mom's garden in my extra album today: http://365project.org/kwind/extra-shots/2014-05-06
Gorgeous shot. Deer are the most active at daybreak and sunset. They are also creatures of habit. If they are here this morning, they are probably there on other mornings as well. FAV!
I'm shocked too that they would venture there! I agree, they usually travel the same paths so most likely you will see them again. Keep that big lens on! ;)
Great shot even if its dark.. theres a romantic feeling on it. Its not always a good feeling when you missed the most interesting part of the shot... hehe!
This is yet another wonderful shot, the colors of the sky are amazing, and the fact that you actually caught two deer in the water, huge plus plus. Excellent.
Beautiful shot!! So, lesson for the day is to have the zoom lens mounted on your camera before you go to sleep at night! ;-) I have literally gasped when I saw hummingbirds hovering outside my kitchen window, or at one of the flower beds first thing in the morning, so I do exactly that!
