I just found this... I took it ten days ago and meant to share it but chose another for that day and I never got back to it. Today was busy and didn't get any new shots. I cut the grass for 2.5 hours. I started out in a tank top and ended up in a hoodie and soaked to the point that I had to change everything! We have an acre and I usually use the ride-em machine but I'm hoping this will be the last cut of the year so I pushed the smaller mower and bagged all the clippings. Between helping a friend make her first photo book, driving to and from school, helping with Math 10 homework and getting groceries there wasn't much time for photography today.
WOW! A Gold Star for you and all you accomplished today! I'd probably be hospitalized if I tried to mow and bag an acre of land...so high five to you! Now helping a friend make a photo book...that's more my speed It's such fun, isn't it, to see a friend's excitement as a book comes together! Perhaps your necessary photo break gave us a chance to see a lovely autumn photo and your beautifully compacted mums. The wind and rains have wracked havoc on mine...
i'm tired now after reading all that you did today. :-) it would have made a really good movie with the fast forward on! and you kept this beauty all this time, eh?
@Weezilou Our property is 1.1245 acres but there house and driveway take up lots of space. I did weedeat all the edges first and then cut it. Here's an aerial view of our yard. The part between the two houses are now grassed as well. http://365project.org/kwind/365/2014-06-14
Whew, you make me tired just reading your description!!!! We have an acre too and I used to push mow with a grass catcher for about the first 8 years we lived here. Then my husband bought me a riding mower!! Let me tell you, that was the most romantic gift he ever gave me!! ROFL!! I LOVE cutting grass, so to me that was romantic!! Sometimes I only would get the front half acre done one day and the back half the second day!! All ths said, I know how you feel push mowing!!
What a lovely bunch of flowers. Are they mums? Sort of look like straw flowers too. Love the colors and that single leave adorning them!! FAV!!
@cashew We do have a ride on mower one but it doesn't have a bag to suck up the grass which I thought it should since it's hopefully the last cut of the season. The plants are mums, from Costco. They are past their flowering prime unfortunately.
