Ron and I made more driftwood trees today. We took them to the front yard and are going to decorate them with Christmas lights. It was a bit of a crazy day so besides photo editing (400 pics from a soccer game and 200 from a family photo shoot) I haven't had any time to comment. I'll catchup with everyone tomorrow.
This is so cool! I'll have to try and make some from our creek!! They will make excellent trees all decorated at Christmas Time!! Love the forest you have here at the water's edge!! FAV!
These are fantastic! Each one has a character all its own. They're going to look amazing with Christmas lights on them. I trust we'll get to see a picture of them all dolled up for the season.
With as busy as things sound for you I don't suppose that batch of gingersnaps has been made yet. :) Thanks for the comment shared on my molasses cookie pic a number of days ago. (I'm officially behind in my commenting...)
If I lived near you I would buy one of those Kim.......I am inspired to try something like this but you have to have the right drift wood. No good any untidy sort of bits of wood, the perfect nature of your wood makes the trees look so professional.
@happypat I think the driftwood works for the beach but old barn/shed/fence posts would work for your country setting. It's super easy to do. You should try. All you need is a drill and long screws.
@kwind I bought a magazine called Lifestyle & it had small wooden Christmas trees to make not unsimilar to yours here but smaller...I thought of you & am full of good intentions. Have been so busy but quietened down now so must go out & look for wood. If I make them I will take a photo!!
i love the colour tones and how you processed this, kim. very nice perspective and those little trees would be beautiful i imagine once they are with lights!
These are nothing short of *wonderful*! What a great display they'll make and beautiful folk art! I do hope you plan to keep and reuse them every year!

I want to live where you live
