I'm late in posting... we decided upon waking up this morning that we would take off to Victoria (3 hour drive away) for an overnight adventure. So we grabbed some clothes and loaded the van with the four of us, my mom, my sister and my niece & nephew. We had a great time! The capital of our province was in full festive mode. We walked, shopped, explored and visited friends. We fed seals fish, explored the BC museum, saw a collection of gingerbread houses and Christmas trees. We went out for dinner, my nephew skated and then we all went for a swim at the hotel. I took an insane number of photos, which I'm too tired to process fully at this point.

It's 10:15pm New Year's Eve but I'm going to bed as tomorrow we're off on another adventure... tubing at Mount Washington.
Beautifully captured night shot!!! Sounds like a lovely impromptu trip!!! We love Victoria!!! Spent a week there a few years ago and hope to go back again, but it 's a lot further than 3 hours for us!!!"
