I must confess... I took this in September while on our Tofino getaway. It's a piece of kelp that I helped ever so slightly become a heart. I shared with family on FB but not on 365. I was saving it! I will shoot something fresh tomorrow, I promise. Thanks for all your comments and fav's on yesterday's wooden heart which I believe was a walnut shell that washed ashore. I posted it and immediately left for Vancouver (1.5 drive + 2 hour ferry ride away). I did a little shopping, had a visit with my sister and then went to the diabetic specialist at UBC for a check up this afternoon. I've had Type 1 diabetes for over 26 years so I see an endocrinologist every few years. He was very happy with my numbers and health, which makes me super happy too! The person before me never showed up so I got in early, left early and drove like a maniac through downtown Vancouver to literally drive onto the 3:00 ferry (instead of the 5:00 that I was planning on). I'm home now and unpacked but I'm feeling rather wiped. I'll catch up with all your masterpieces tomorrow!
Had to go back & check out your walnut she'll after reading this.....beautiful both of them! You know I love a simple photo! Glad all was well with your results.....a great example of how to live with diabecies Kim!
Sounds like a full day and a smart move to save up this shot for your month of hearts. Glad to hear you're health is good too! I've got a lot to work on in that department but am taking baby steps to get to where I need to be.
Happy to hear you receive a "good health" report! I love how you created this heart from kelp. Doesn't matter when you took it, I'm glad you posted it.
This is lovely!! At first I thought it was a heart made out of wire bent into shape, but now I see the kelp! Glad your health is good.....does diabetes run in your family? I am surprised you had it for so long and at such a young age...
