This is an old photo of my dad as a little boy (he's now 75). His mom (my Nana) is in the dark sweater. She was a wonderful woman who died almost 24 years ago. I lived with her for two years when I went to University. I will forever be grateful for the time we shared. The other woman is my Dad's Aunty Carla. She never married or had any children and used to knit us slippers when we were kids. She used to say "big as a minute" which always made my sisters and I laugh. My mom suggested I share it for its heart shaped frame.
I love your frame and the great memories you have of your grandmother and aunt. I was very lucky to have my grandmother until 2 years ago when she died at age 100.
It's wonderful that you know details about your family and have pictures to go with the stories. The picture looks amazing; I'd never have guessed it to be as old as it is.
What a lovely frame to have this special picture in - that picture really does seem to be in great condition for its age. Neat idea to go with your hearts.
Your Mom was right!! Glad you did share it!! I love old portraits and the stories behind them!! The heart frame is wonderful and a reason to keep it in your heart as well!! FAV!
