That's my husband and son fishing while a cruise ship going to Alaska heads north. That black spot in the water just in front of them is a seal. I took this last night just after I posted my rose shot (thanks for your comments & favs). Those of you who know my regular view might notice that the mountains have disappeared. That's because of numerous forest fires happening in British Columbia and on Vancouver Island right now. It is VERY smokey here today! We are experiencing a drought like we've never seen before and it's rather scary!
The photo is terrific, so much to look at. I have been watching the news about the fires in both B.C. and Saskatchewan. Hopefully they are able to get them under control soon!
Forest fires are always so scary because getting them under control is so hard and it affects people and wild life in so many ways!!! Hope they get those fires under control and you get lots and lots of rain!! Do love the shot and the contrast in sizes!! FAV!
Wonderful photo - love all the sections - what a comparison between your husband's fishing boat and the cruise ship! That smoke is terrible - I imagine it's getting difficult to breathe comfortably by now, especially for anyone with lung problems. Do hope they're able to get them under control soon. Times of drought are definitely scary.
WOW...great perspective. Can't get over your wonderful views!! So even as far north as you are? I think we are due for bit of cool down and hopefully some rain... (aaaahhh..did I REALLY say that?)
Great contrast between these two water vessels. How neat to have a seal for company while fishing. I would suppose that makes catching anything on the line a bit more of a challenge though. So sorry about the smoke and the drought conditions. May that change soon.
Wow, a drought in British Columbia?! Hard to believe that! And, fires, and smoke.....starting to sound a lot like southern California!! Love what you captured here.....the tiny boat and the cruise ship, both facing in the same direction, the stillness, the feeling that there is nothing around them except for that misty emptiness and the water....
I hope they get the fire under control soon, it must be so scary!
Sorry to hear you are experiencing such horrendous forest fires. Very scary.
