A screen shot of our travel route from Campbell River to Edmonton. We left at 6am on Saturday took the longer path through Banff because we stayed over night near Salmon Arm that night. Today (Sunday) we left my sister's summer rental at 5:42am. We stopped at Lake Louise and then drove to Edmonton. I'm exhausted!! I haven't don't this drive in over ten years and never as a solo driver. We went to hubby's 64 unit apartment job site for a tour and now we're relaxing in the hotel at the giant mall.
Enjoy your road trip. We are gearing up for a similar length trip in a day. Dreading the awful drive but then hubby and I get a week cruising alone...the reward.
Great trip and we did a similar run in reverse about 6 years ago. The Mall is great with its 800+ stores. My brother lives in St Albert just North of Edmonton and we will one day return to see him and his family.
@happypat He never drives anymore. He flies. I just thought the drive would be fun for the kids to experience. We're all kind of dreading going home...it's so far away!
Oh, dear... 14 hours! Kind of cute that your phone notes "this route requires tolls." Wonderful country, though. I would love to see it myself one day... but on a more leisurely pace! Enjoy.
