Please enlarge!! Wow... what a night! I hadn't taken a photo yet today so I dragged my son the 50' to the beach in front of our house hoping we'd get something worth posting. As we were standing there, I spotted a couple of dolphins passing by. It turned out to be HUNDREDS of dolphins swimming north in a line for close to 10 minutes! They were really quite close to the shore but I had the wrong lens on and my settings weren't the best so my focus isn't has good as it could be. It was an amazing experience watching them travel so quickly. Have I mentioned before how much I love where I live?!
I saw your post on FB before I saw your photo here, and I knew I could count on you capturing them!! How exciting in must have been to see them going by like this. Do you think they will come by again, or are they on a migration pattern? Yes, you live at a wonderful place... :-)))) Love the layering of the mountains beyond, the birds flying out of the picture, and the blue hues!
Seeing so many dolphins at once must have been a thrill! You have an
incredible vantage point to view nature and gorgeous scenery right from
your front door!
@panthora That's only the second time in over 3 years we've seen white sided dolphins from the beach. The other time there were only about 10 of them. Not sure we'll see this again but we can hope.
What an amazing experience. I can feel your excitement in your narrative - that's just great. For the wrong lens, you've got a pretty fab shot here. Super light, layers and colour. And the dolphins? Well, I wish I could have seen what you saw.
