Today Christmas left our house... it takes HOURS to take it down and pack it up. I dusted, vacuumed and generally cleaned all day. The house feels a little bare but I'll get used it. The light on the mountains was gorgeous so I grabbed my zoom and stepped out on the patio for this shot. Best viewed large against black.
I have been doing the same over the last few days, just pottering and slowly putting things away. Today I am making a wedding cake so the cleaning will have to wait until the new year. The cake is needed for tomorrow night and I have cupcakes to make tomorrow to go with the main cake.
The house always looks empty when the Christmas decorations go away, but I like that time of year as everything feels clean and tidy once the vacuum has been round. However, I don't take down until the 12th day of Christmas ... so I have a few more days to enjoy them. I also don't put them up until the week before Christmas, so I suppose it's logical. This is a beautiful image and how lucky are you to have that view from your patio!
Mine will be coming down next Monday & by then I will be ready! Lovely when they go up but lovely when they come down. This is stunning Kim.....a big Fave! This beats any inside decoration!
Snow on mountain tops is always so pretty. We don't see it too often here. I'm not looking forward to the taking down process.... Probably get started tomorrow.
