These images were taken yesterday on our hike to the Elk Falls Suspension Bridge in our hometown of Campbell River, BC, Canada. My son, who was previously terrified to cross the bridge, is standing almost in the middle of the 64m (210') long span. The shot on the right shows the falls, which are currently flowing 170% of what they normally do. We've had a LOT of rain and BC Hydro is releasing some of the water from the dam that is above. The left image shows the water continuing it's journey down stream.
What a beautiful part of the world you inhabit. Spectacular falls, but I would be terrified. The noise must be thunderous with that volume of water flowing.
Fabulous triptych- really shows the location so well - I can understand your son's hesitation - besides being a suspension bridge, the noise from the falls must be quite loud - that would frighten me on solid land!
This is a great shot of a beautiful area. I don't blame your son about not liking to cross it.... I hate having to look down when you can see below when walking across something like this I don't like heights. We know Campbell River area.... I have family who live on the Island.
Great presentation! You can almost hear the sound of the thundering water! Your son is very brave to overcome his fear! I would not have been able to walk across. Fav!
