well as the daughter of a fruit farmer who produced a very high quality product, he hoped no-one would have the opportunity to damage the fruit. Our local fruit shop has signs up asking people not to touch as they have good quality produce and I appreciate that. i never touch fruit there other than to purchase, but if I am at Woolworths where quantity and not quality is the game, i handle the fruit.
Good differentiation, Helen - Can understand from the grower's view, but from the buyer's view we've been bitten too many times. Maybe handle gently? Neat find.
It would be great if supermarkets and farmers markets would provide instruction or seminars or info sessions on how to tell when fruit and other produce are at their peak of ripeness and flavour. There are tricks which don't ruin the product for others if you choose not to purchase it.
