30 years ago this past June I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and today I went for my yearly ophthalmologist appointment. The doctor said there was absolutely no evidence of my disease. I asked if that was common for a long time diabetic and he shock his head and said, "No!" I walked out feeling pretty good!
@kiwichick My eyes were dilated - large pupils - so the doctor could see deep inside! They were really big early but I took this about 2 hours after the drops went in. Diabetics often experience eye complications including blindness.
Glad to hear this. My mom had some issues with her eyes from Type 1 as she got older, but she didn't do a good job of controlling hers. Great shot of your eyes!
Great news about your eyes and well done as you must be making great health choices too.
Our daughter was suddenly diagnosed with Type 1 when she was 17 but thankfully all seems to be going well for her too.
It is always a bit nerve racking before the annual eye test re diabetes , but always a relief to hear all is well in spite of the dilated pupils and the lack of focus foe a few hours !
