After a long hiatus from the 365 Project, I'm ready to dive in again with renewed enthusiasm.

Kylie Quinn: A fictional avatar who lives in a virtual world called Second Life. She is 29 years old and loves photography.

The real me: I'm not fictitious, and I'm not 29 years old. I do love photography!

The images in this project are primarily taken in Second Life (SL). What you see in the picture was created by someone else. I only captured the image. It is like in Real Life (RL) when I take a photo of a garden scene. I snap the image of someone's creation. Sometimes, I create my own scene/display/stage. When I do this in SL, I purchase the items inworld and then arrange them to set my scene. So, the things you see in the photo were created by someone else, but the photograph was made by me. I do this in RL sometimes, too. One thing that I do in both lives is to edit and put my own spin on the images.

(I would like to point out that I did create my avatar, along with a few others who will show up here from time to time!)

My posts in the 365 Project are from my personal point of view. Some "play" SL like a game or an escape from whatever constraints or challenges they feel they have in their RL. I prefer to live this virtual life as myself, only younger! For me, it's a journey meant to be experienced no matter how happy, sad, exciting, crazy, outrageous, scary, unpredictable (add your own description here) the journey gets. If it was a place of only bliss, we would come to the point where we didn't even know what bliss was (as an example). While this is a bit of a concept to grasp by those who haven't experienced a virtual life, once I get going, it will become more apparent.

Whether my images come from Real Life or Second Life, they take on a look all their own and often look nothing like what I saw through the lens but more like what I felt. They are unique in that I follow no set formula.

Because I use texture overlays, filters, and brush effects, I can add dimension and create a timeless feeling that captures the emotion of that moment in time. Using surreal fantasy and dream-like effects creates a feeling and emotion that, while personal, can resonate with the viewer.

My favorite photography/artist-teacher in RL said, "This is your life, so be intentional, be bold, and be free. It is your art."

One of my favorites in SL said, "The right way is where your heart leads you."

That explains this project; the rest of my story will be told in my posts. If I post a Real Life photo, I will label it as such to avoid confusion.
