Hi, Laura, I'm Lyn and we are paired for GP7. I've enjoyed looking through your album! It looks to me as though you have a bit of everything here, but what I'd like to push you to do is "person street photography". It seems you are near/in Belfast, so this shouldn't be too difficult, I hope. Just a few extra rules, though: no relatives, no selfies, no reflections: just capture a single individual on the street. Hope this is okay and understand that it can make one nervous! You know the solutions, always have the camera ready, shoot from the hip, pretend you're aiming at something else, or actually talk to and ask to photograph the subject, etc. Have FUN!
@lyno Lyn. Was wondering is it ok to have a person lying on a grass lawn in front of the City Hall in Belfast? I do have a photo of the street in front of the City Hall with a couple of people walking together but there are a lot of people about whereas the one with the person on the grass although there are more people they are not as noticeable as they are further away. Thanks.
Hi, Laura - remember it's your challenge and you can bend the rules however you see fit! What I was personally envisioning though would be more like an everyday encounter, a candid shot of people going about their business in everyday Belfast. You can search street photography here on 365 and come up with a huge amount of information. In my opinion, you can find no better source than taking a look at Megsy's @megsy project for great examples of what I had in mind. @lyno The one I got with the couple of people walking together was taken at waist height and has 2 men (presumably from Titanic Bus Tours as they were wearing ship captain hats) and several other people out for a walk at lunchtime and others just lazing about would it do? I will try to get another one though although unless you are there later than I can stay there are always loads of people about.
@lyno Thanks. I was thinking maybe do this challenge on Wednesday as in the Same September challenge Wednesday is the Same Settings so it might be better doing all my pushed challenges on Wednesday if possible. Whereas Monday is same place and if it is the street infront of the City Hall I will have to take a photo of the same place every Monday.
