Hi partner! thank you for the ICM challenge. I'll keep my eye out for some interesting light and shapes. I've had a look back through your albums and noticed you use a couple of different cameras. In checking the EXIF data for January I see you've been shooting a camera that uses very wide open apertures with pretty slow shutter speeds, so I suspect you are shooting in low light conditions. I can't hand hold my camera when the shutter speed drops below 1/80th, so you must have pretty steady hands!
You can use a lamp, candle, flashlight, computer, refrigerator, or even window light. You might want to try either Aperture Priority mode or Shutter Priority mode for this challenge and keep your shutter speed above 1/80th. I found a manual for the camera you currently use here if you need help using these modes: http://www.camera-usermanual.com/manuals/panasonic/Panasonic_LUMIX_DMC-FZ48.pdf
or you might want to try not to shoot hand held if you need the slower shutter speed and either use a tripod or just set the camera on something solid and steady. So grab a lamp ... or torch ... or even your computer ... and see what you can do with some one light lighting.
If this doesn't work for you, though, just let me know and I'll set another challenge.
@aecasey Although I had taken these photos using the hand held night shots they were resting on solid surfaces (except the outside ones) when I took them. Could you challenge me to something else as I was using one light? Thank You.
For this challenge I'd like you to try one-light lighting. This was a technique challenge awhile back, which you can see here: http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/21263/technique-challenge-21-one-light-lighting
