Planta genista by laroque

Planta genista

The English kings from Henry 2nd to Richard 3rd were known as the Plantagenets, because their heraldic symbol was this flowering shrub, known here as the genêt. At the moment it is in flower everywhere here. I have tried to take a decent photo for several days, and this afternoon decided to find a plant in dappled shade, to get in close and use the sky, not vegetation, as a backdrop.
It does show very nicely against the blue of the sky.
We don't have that flower here, but it reminds me of forsythia, a yellow flowering shrub in bloom now that is everywhere in this area.
