@jack4john John, this is France ... the shops are closed Sundays, Mondays, market days, every other day between 12 and 4pm, and national holidays, of which there are a lot. So we need to start Xmas shopping early. Besides, the lights were switched on in Oxford Street two weeks ago.
Tim its just me. it has always surprised me ho shops work in France .A few years ago I was in Troyes for a few days and came across a shop selling old Collectibles, it had a great window display and I longed to explore inside . It never opened . Here the shops are opened 7/7/365 and people get into a frenzy, as long as I have a good book to start on Christmas Day I'm ok......
