It feels colder here now than during our visit to Norway, because of a very strong, gusting wind. For the early morning dog walk I decided I needed to wear something on my head, and had a dig around in an old kitbag. Found this, bought in 1999 in Madeira, where it is apparently the local costume. I've never had the courage to wear it in public, which makes me ask myself, 'Why am I posting this picture on the Internet?'
HaHa--you're either a good sport or you are really desperate for today's photo. Either way, I'm sure Jasper thought you looked terrific.
By the way, we were in the South of France once and experienced the "Mistral Winds", I think they were called, and it was no laughing matter.
@colleenculhane The Mistral comes from the North down the Rhone vallley, channeled between the Massif Central and the Alps, and arriving at the Med to the N of us, at the Camargue. Our wind is the Tramontane, also from the North, channeled between the Massif Central and the Pyrenees. Both can last for several days and are reputed to send men mad, hence this photo.
