Long exposure, desaturated

Tonight I continued my long exposure experiments down by the river. Realised I didn't know how to use 'bulb' on my camera, so was limited to 60 seconds. Liked this shot because of the creepy tree roots (probably influenced by having bats flying around me during the shoot). Not usually a fan of B&W, but this did look best desaturated.
really gorgeous

That's a really nice photo, Tim. I don't what bulb is, but I've heard it mentioned. I'm going to see if the DSLR that I am borrowing has a bulb setting.

So amazing! I wouldn't know where to start! This is brilliant!

@moonmtn 'Bulb' is a speed setting when you are in manual mode, it allows you to open the shutter and then shut it after a time decided by you - thus you can have the shutter open for several minutes, or even hours. Easy if you are using a shutter release cord, but I had left it at home and was using the self-timer, and then it doesn't work.

Well this worked out nicely. The exposure looks spot-on to me so Bulb wasn't needed. A Fav for me.

I prefer this in b&w. The water looks like pewter. It sounds a slightly disconcerting experience!

@quietpurplehaze Disconcerting and itchy, thanks to the mosquitoes. Should you ever want to do long exposures of water, I think winter might be the best time.

Works in either form, are you affected by the rain we see on the news?
