Camera unseen

So busy taking the photo I didn't see what was before me. I picked up the Minolta, because that was the camera I desired but couldn't afford in the 80's. It was only when I came to process the picture that I realised there was a Zenith there also, the camera I was given for my 20th birthday in 1980, and my first SLR. It was even the same commemorative edition for the Moscow Olympics. I almost went back to buy it, but decided that was being just too sentimental.
I had a severe attack of nostalgia looking at this - bad mistake not buying the Zenit E... the 58mm Helios is a great lens for portraiture giving a wonderful filmic effect and adapters are readily available for your camera.

I don't have much of a camera history, the first one I got was when the kids came along in 1985. I can't remember what make it was but it suffered terminal injury in a fall. I was given an early digital by the company I worked for in about 1990 to help with time and motion studies, it was a revelation what it could do., I have become a collector of film cameras after the fact. I would have been tempted by several these...
