I stopped yesterday below Aguilar castle to take some photos of it from below. I let Jasper out to run around in the vines, and when I had finished taking photos of the castle I turned round to look for him. This is what I saw, the mid-morning sunlight reflecting off the vine wires, the road I had come along winding into the distance, and far away to the South, the Tower of Tautavel, a 13thC signal station, looking down on it all.
The layers convey a sense of depth to this image whilst our attention is held by the golden foreground... nice one. As a matter of interest, there's a common photographic challenge that invites you, each time a scene catches your eye, to turn 180deg and capture what you see in the opposite direction... this is a great example of how serendipitous that can be.
