On Saturday we decided to torture our neighbours by serving them an English Ploughman's Lunch. Our supermarket had run out of 'Cheddar fermier' so the Cheddar cheese came from Holland, and the ham came from Spain. The bread was local, the butter was from Normandy and the beer was Catalan, but the pickles were from dear old Blighty.
Sounds the perfect combination to me, Catalan beer, Normandy butter and French bread together with British accompaniments - a truly European Ploughmans!
