Not a line I have ever deployed (though I doubt it could have been even less successful than those I did use). However, it was the line that came to mind when I saw this sculpture in the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Lyon. I had been searching for a Rodin masterpiece (never did find it) but stumbled across this, which was clearly by a sculptor local to my region, Aristide Maillol. Where had I seen her before? Then I remembered, on this site, a photo posted by @mbrutushttp://365project.org/mbrutus/365/2018-01-14 , though in that case she was in bronze rather than stone, and disporting herself in the garden of a museum in California. A bit of research on the Internet revealed that Maillol made several studies before making six copies of the final version. So I have probably also seen the copy in the Tuileries gardens in Paris, and could drive 30 minutes from home to see another version in the Maillol Museum at Banyuls. And if that is not enough, then there are five further examples in the US, another in Paris and one in each of Tokyo, Canberra and Tel Aviv. Apparently Maillol's model was Dina Vierny, a Russian woman with a 'voluptuous physique'. The title of the sculpture is 'La Montagne' (the Mountain).
An Irish chat up line " how would you like to be buried with my people " I was no silver tongued devil either . this is a fine piece of work, guess you are soaking up the culture in Lyon.
I have to confess that the line that came immediately to my mind was - "Where the heck did I leave my clothes?"... err, sorry ;-))
