Sausages - Poem by Terry Donovan

The day the bomb fell on the house
The kids were all at school,
Dad was at his allotment,
Mum was out buying wool.

The house was completely demolished,
There was not much remaining at all
Apart from a section of landing
And a bike upside-down in the hall.

The cat was trapped under the table,
The canary was plastered with grit,
Granny was blackened from head to toe,
And looked like she'd been down the pit.

The outside toilet was now indoors
With its chain still intact, but no pan.
He thought he'd get the blame for all this,
So the dog grabbed the sausages and ran.
Nice photo. Labradors would also grab the sausages and run.

A dog in the kitchen... now that's a familiar scene!

My Jasper would have a long wait for a sausage as we are veggie! .. .a quorn sausage doesn't quite come up to expectations to a dog!

LOL, great poem and photo. Exchange Jasper for a burmese cat called Minnie, and sausages for bacon, and I would have a similar shot, except she'd be ON the table!
