I can't remember when they closed the bars and cafés, probably November for the last confinement. They said then that they would re-open if the number of new cases in France fell below 5,000 per day. According to the StopCovid app on my phone, there were 22,000 new cases yesterday, and that has been pretty stable for a while. Keeping the schools and colleges open seems to be the priority. The Govt. are also making a big push to clamp down on 'restos clandestins', the ones that are illicitly serving customers. A few days ago they raided one such in Marseilles and caught three policemen and a magistrate. The magistrate got off, claiming he was only there to pick up a food order, which is allowed. The three policemen were caught bang to rights, seated at a table, napkins tucked in shirts, bowls of steaming bouillabaisse in front of them.
not even sure what to say about this virus anymore. your photo is of course telling about the conditions. we have just opened up restaurants in our state to low capacity indoor dining. some won't reopen because there isn't enough profit to do so. I feel so bad for them.
