Glaces italiennes & ice bear

It was cold today, and freezing in the strong wind. We took refuge in this out-of-season ice cream bar. Ice bears seem to be popular as decorations. This plastic one reminded me of two stuffed bears that I've encountered over the years. The first was at the airport in Anchorage, when it was a stopover on flights to Japan. It sort of made sense, since these animals are native to Alaska. The other was a bit wierder, a supermarket in Stavanger, Norway. I remember a stuffed bear mounted on top of the freezer cabinets. When I Googled to remind me of the name of the supermarket (Helgø) I found that there were other stuffed animals there too, something I had forgotten. You can see some photos on this site

There are no ice bears on mainland Norway, just on the island of Svalbard in the far North.
What a cool find and capture! Remember the Coka Cola polar bear?

Lovely composition, bear and all. And of course nothing quite like an Italian ice cream treat in the middle of the winter

A cool place (no pond intended). You live in a lovely area in France.
