Settled in for the evening with some popcorn and a good book ("the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" - which I could not put down!)
I have a confession to make regarding popcorn:
I always buy the "Smart Pop" microwave popcorn because in my mind it is somewhat healthier with less butter. But after I make it I am always disappointed in the lack of butter flavour and so... I melt some additional butter to pour on top (just a little bit!), therefore defeating the whole purpose of buying "Smart Pop". Not very healthy at all. But delicious!
very nice shot lauren. Do you enjoy using one of those to read from rather then a hard copy book?? sometimes i wonder if i would want one....but then i think i would miss the ACTUAL book feeling in my hand. Oh...and about the Smart Pop popcorn...you took the words right out of my mouth!! haha. I buy it too sometimes, but never enjoy it when i eat it. lol. I think i will go back to popping my own bc it always tastes ALOT better then the bags anyway!! I wondered about that book!!! i have heard it is really good...so maybe i will have to look into it sometime. Arent there more to read after that one too???
@kdimagery thanks :) for a super long time I refused to get an ereader. i HATED the idea of one because I am the type of person that loves books so much. i thought i would miss the feel of a real book and even the smell of new books! but finally my husband bought me one last year and even though i was convinced i would hate it, i loved it, and now this is a newer one! i still plan to keep my favourite "real" books, but i really love having one of these! and yeah i had heard so much about the book that finally i thought i should read it. sooo good, but now there are two more to read.
My daughter has asked for one every Christmas and birthday for a couple years now. Her shelves in her room are full of books and she's quite proud of her collection. I'm thinking she'll miss the feel of a book in her hand and the look of them on her self and the Ereader will end up in a drawer! Are the books cheaper? Where do you get them? Are they hard on your eyes?
@shutterbugger Jenn I had all those same worries and i was so proud of my collection of books too, but i was starting to accumulate too many! some of the books are cheaper, but not always by much... i buy mine from the chapters on line store since i have their Kobo reader. you can also use them to get books at the library and other places you may find books for free online... the one i have is not hard on my eyes at all, but different kinds might be different for different people, so i would suggest testing them our and reading reviews.
very cool shot!! oh im still super stuborn about not getting ereader... nothing better than smell of a new book and having nice filled bookshelf... oh and enjoy the book! ive read the first two parts in a flash two years ago... and still cant get myself to read the third one... maybe one day before the amerian version of the film comes out...
Cool shot. Popcorn is better with butter, it's just one of those little cheats we'll have to let slide.
I agree with you too, this is an amazing book. I listened to this and the sequels on audio (I have a long commute), and each book keeps getting better. Enjoy!
Oh i dont think i could cross over.. I am still in love with my books far too much.. I know i will make the move one day, when they stop printing books.. but until ten i will cling onto my books :) Gorgeous shot & I add butter too ;)
Awesome shot....Lots of debate over the e-reader.... I just adore books and at the moment could not imagine replacing them with an e-reader.... although my daugther as mentioned buying me one as a gift....I hope she forgets that idea...♥
